Art Tips Please→ Jan 18, 2012, 07:56 PM CST

If its not painfully obvious i'm not the best artist.

Does anyone have any helpful tips, artbooks, how to draw faces etc. that would help?

I'm also having trouble blending colors on photoshop is there a better tool for me to use other than blur and pen sensativity?

                                         -thanks in advance

This can help you get a feeling of anatomy, but eventually it all comes to one thing, dedication.
When you start off painting, both digital and on real canvas, most people want to goal for a certain style to go, 1 tip from me, let your hands do the work, not your brain, so, it's good to work towards a style, but don't start off with the hopes of you being able to draw that certain style.
A very important thing for any artist is to start learning about anatomy, its the most important thing to learn, correct anatomical behaviour and stature, is imo the most important thing to busy yourself on, to try and get the hang of it.
if human, animal and (how to say) machinical anatomy is printed in your brain you can start developing your style.
Another artist which personally helped me get some good going in the world of art, is Charles Bernard, if you want to know more about him check him on his website, http://www.onlineartacademy.com/.
Good luck and take care, though 1 last thing, 10 pictures a day (how bad they even look) keeps the doctor away.

Anatomy for the Artist, Strength training Anatomy, Bridgman books. Keep going to Figure Drawing Workshops, and try to paint with real paint first. Hope that helps.
